- Graduate in Law by the University of Granada (1981).
- Doctor (PhD) in Law by the University of Malaga (1989).
- Master in Gerontology at the University of Barcelona (2007) and tenured professor of International Private Law (DIPR) at this University (1990), where she has held the position of Secretary and Associate Dean for Research.
I – Mayte exercises her teaching activity at the Faculty of Law in Malaga, where she currently teaches the core subject of “International Private Law” and the elective “International Commerce Law”. Similarly, Mayte has also taught “Private International Law for Tourism” at the Faculty of Tourism, “Cross border Employment Contracts” at the Faculty of Labour Studies, and “Cross border Family Law and Immigration Law” at the Faculty of Social and Labour Studies. In the framework of the teaching activity, she has participated in many educational innovation activities and has developed numerous constructive teaching methodology initiatives since the end of the nineties. Mayte also participates in several masters on International Commerce, Family Law and Master of Laws..

B) Most pf Mayte’s most important publications have been related to the electronic cross border hiring, the rights of the defendant domiciled abroad, electronic commerce and users, the principle of personal autonomy, legal protection of people’s capacity, the definition and contextualisation of the complex phenomenon of gerontomigration, the interdisciplinary nature as a method of knowledge management, the residence of the gerontomigration in Spain as a link between rights and obligations, and the biological and intentional filiation.
C) Similarly, she has also lead the PhD Thesis for Rocío Caro Gándara (1997), titled “The International judicial competence in terms of the internal regime of companies in the European Legal Space·[La competencia judicial internacional en materia de régimen interno de sociedades en el espacio jurídico europeo]. Published in Civitas, 1999..
III -Regarding the knowledge transfer activity, since 1994, Mayte has been preparing legal reports through the OTRI of the University of Malaga, for the preparation of reports and collaboration for teacher training programmes. She has belonged to the academic committee of the GVA & ATENCIA firm since 2007, where she provides regular advice and performs training activities. The most important activity in the field of legal advice is related to the field of international trading between companies, in particular, purchase and collaboration contracts for the distribution of products, consumer contracts, cross border insolvency proceedings, divorces, parental relationships, food entitlements, financial marriage regime of the spouses and successions in cross border relations.
